Revolutionary " Spin- Not" A- Team Lure Company $ 1.80 Retail " Spin- Not" only by Bill Neisen, Curt Fenton and Bob Mehsikomer O ver the past few years there has been a great deal of attention paid to some lakes offering an-glers a real shot at very large muskies. However, with the accelerated pressure these systems are experiencing, down goes the fishing. Exactly what does down mean? Well, in this case it means the depths, or perhaps I should say the necessity to reach them. Anglers are pounding the more notable spots 24/ 7 from June through September and even into October, with 90 percent of the real catching taking place at night, late at night in some cases. That means if you want to improve your odds, you have to change the game and you will have to adapt. Fishing deep or deeper generally means trolling in the muskie world, although you can choose to present soft plastics, which will in fact produce from time to time. However, you will still find your-self fishing basically the same pressured waters and competing for structure, just a bit further off the breaks. So let's stay with the trolling aspects of the sport for the time being. Trolling some of these muskie, pike and laker waters will in and of itself present some dilemmas in terms of lure choice. For the most part, you will find yourself pulling Worden's T- 60 Flatfish, Grandmas in 9" and 13" versions or Believers in 10" and 13" sizes. Your speeds will often near or exceed the 5 mph mark, and if for no other reason than the need for speed, you are restricted to basically a few lure groups. As productive as they are, they are not always going to produce. What about all those super productive double bladed monster bucktails you have purchased, such as A-Team's Avenger- X or spinnerbaits including the Assassin- X, that in no way can be pulled at 5mph, but produce very well when being cast and retrieved?
